Jenice Heo Bio:
Over the years, Heo has been steadily developing as a fine art painter, while, simultaneously working as an album cover artist for many of the most prominent artists in rock and roll music today. In addition to her fine art practice, Heo is also a Grammy award-winning art director. A partial list of the musicians with which she has worked include: Neil Young, Conor Oberst, Bright Eyes, Jim James, My Morning Jacket, Devendra Banhart and Jack White on the Neil Young A Letter Home, Grammy-award nominated Box Set for Best Art Direction.
Born in South Korea, Heo was raised in Texas and studied at the University of Texas at Austin. In Los Angeles, she began her career as an Art Director in music packaging at Warner Bros Records, followed by positions at A&M Records and Maverick Records. Heo’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, AIGA, Graphis and Communication Arts.
For the past decade, Heo and her late husband, Gary Burden, have worked as creative partners in RTwerk & Co, where the two have collaborated on the art direction and design of album covers and films. Burden himself is considered a pioneer of album art, creating iconic covers for such artists as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and Eagles.
